Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has informed that there are great chances of a cyclonic formation over the Bay of Bengal in the next 24 hours.
The low pressure zone which formed over the Bay of Bengal has intensified in to a high depression zone and this may transform in to cyclonic format in the next 24 hours and move towards North Tamil Nadu and South Andhra.
When the cyclone crosses the coast, high speed winds may occur at 100 kmph to 120kmph. Due to this, there are prospects of heavy rains in the coastal areas of Northen Tamil Nadu.
The fishermen are advised not to venture into the sea for the next 4 days.
